Gain

Gah, I've somehow gained a pound! How? how?? I know that it is probably hormonal or something but this is a real danger area for me, my head decides that there is no point trying to loose weight as its not working therefore I'll eat whatever I please and gain 10 pounds!
Obviously, I won't do this.

Kids are awful this morning, constant fighting, I can't stand it. It seems that Isobel default setting when it comes to her brother is to be rude and horrible, she's upstairs crying at the moment as I've just told her that we're not going to meet her school friend as we'd planned, I don't know what else to do to get through to her. It's like living in a constant war zone.

I've also realised that I hate minced turkey, it's fowl! haha! I used some to make meatloaf the other day - yuk! I made some in to bolognaise yesterday - horrible. I also detest the protein bars I bought, gosh, I'm very fussy this morning aren't I?

No point replying, just moaning to try and loose some frustrations so I can go and deal with Isobel, count to 10, deep breaths etc etc!

Have a good day all.

  1. Hang in there. You've already made great strides in the fact that you realize bad habits (going bezerk and using a one pound gain as permission to eat uncontrollably). Now you have to make sure you stay strong and get through it, and you will!

ps make sure your following me at justawallflower83.blogspot.com as I have recently changed my blog address!

  3. I don't like the protein bars much either! Or Ground turkey. But I love ground chicken...doesn't have much flavor which is why I like it! Melds well with anything.

You are having a bad day and you are allowed. But don't let it defeat you!

  4. Bad days are allowed and kudos to you coming to your blog and venting instead of going to the kitchen and eating!

  5. I know how you feel with the kiddos! I know I was the same way when I was young, but it is so frustrating!

  6. I know how you feel about the kids. The tension levels are pretty high in my house too and mine are 19 & 23!!! But you are doing so well and blogging when you feel like this. I have yet to find that level of control.

I feel the same about ground turkey and protein bars. They all taste like old bones to me????

Keep up the good work and thanks for the advice the other day.

  8. kids can drive us crazy sometimes!! Good luck on that front.

Now as far as the ground turkey goes if you don't like it don't eat it...but do give it a try again after a time. My tastes have totally changed (like no seafood to craving it!!). My surgeon said it was because my body in its state of starvation was making me like anything that would provide nutrition...its a crazy thing our bodies do apparently.

  9. The thai chicken is a yummy one...I like anything with those type flavors...they are yummy with shrimp too!

I made ground chicken with a little soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and chili sauce, and two tablespoons of peanut butter and ate a small pita with it the other night. It really really was good. I will add spinach next time to give me some fiber!

  11. Hi Amanda - I totally relate to the kids issue. That is how my house is constantly! Sometimes I just want to cry and go into a closet like Charlotte did on Sex and the City 2. Have you tried making meatballs with the ground turkey? The bolognese sounds good. I actually love turkey meatloaf. I make it with an egg, some breadcrumbs, powdered onion soup mix which I don't know if they have in the UK, and a little ketchup. Also - I buy the ground turkey thigh and not the breast - might be a few more calories but tastier.
    Hang in there!

  13. I totally agree. When I come over we will meet up for sure. Will have to take a train or something since we don't have a car there anymore! Been meaning to say that I love the Smiths too..noticed on your profile about your music. I think I am just really shocked that all that has happened in a little more then a year. 2011 is going to be good I think.
